ABOUT PURE CYCLE/RANGEVIEW METROPOLITAN DISTRICT
Pure Cycle Corporation is the service provider for Rangeview Metropolitan District.  Pure Cycle and Rangeview have a large service area incorporating some 25,000 acres for which they provide water and wastewater services.  This area is adjacent to the City of Aurora in Arapahoe County.  Currently we operate water and wastewater systems that provide service to approximately 1,000 connections through two wastewater facilities, one 0.4 MGD water reclamation facility which produces Category 2 reclaimed water, and a 0.006 MGD aerated lagoon facility that produces Category 1 reclaimed water, related sewage collection, and reclaimed water distribution and storage facilities.  Pure Cycle also operates and maintains potable and raw water facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facilities.  Applicant must be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
The Wastewater Treatment Operator participates in the district’s wastewater operations including the following general tasks:
  • Operates and monitors the wastewater treatment plant's equipment and systems to ensure proper treatment of wastewater.
  • Conducts routine inspections of equipment, pumps, motors, and other machinery to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Performs chemical and biological tests on wastewater samples to assess treatment efficiency and adjust treatment processes as necessary.
  • Utilizes SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to monitor and control the wastewater treatment facilities, collection system equipment, reclaimed water system and the district’s raw and potable water supply facilities.
  • Maintains accurate records of plant operations, including equipment readings, chemical usage, and maintenance activities. Assists in performing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, repairing, and replacing equipment as necessary.
  • Is available and develops the skills to act as the off-hour, on-call operator to respond to emergency situations. 
  • Responds to alarms and emergencies promptly, troubleshooting and resolving issues to prevent negative environmental impacts and damage to Rangeview or private property.
  • Participates with, coordinates, and oversees response to problems with process equipment, controls, or service from Xcel Energy.
  • Provides support during plant upgrades, expansions, and modifications as needed.
  • Utilize SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to monitor and control the collection system's performance.
  • Works with wastewater and water system personnel to ensure the quality and coordinate the use of reclaimed water with the district’s raw and potable water supply facilities which include groundwater wells, WISE water, and alluvial groundwater. 


EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
Applicants need to have the following experience:
  • State of Colorado Wastewater Operator Certification Level C, or higher.
  • Vocational, technical, military training and/or college coursework.
  • Hands-on experience monitoring technical systems/equipment and following Standard Operating Procedures for complex processes. 
The successful candidate shall have the following abilities and skills:
  • Maintain a professional rapport with other staff, customers, the public, and regulatory personnel.
  • Effective problem solving and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to conduct field measurements, observations, and analyses.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills sufficient to perform equipment inspections and adjustments as well as planned maintenance activities.
  • Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft office products.
  • A current, valid Colorado driver’s license.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
